There are many benefit that come from good nutrition such as keeping a healthy body weight, sleeping longer and deeper and experiencing more energy and positive thinking.</p>
<p>In addition, practicing good nutrition also helps keep our hearts healthy and in good shape&#8221;free of heart disease and heart failure later on in life. By staying away from<span id="more-16"></span> foods that are high fat and cholesterol, we can maintain a healthy and productive heart. Another benefit of good nutrition are healthy bones. We need good bone health to keep our bones, joints and ligaments in good shape and that is why it is so important to consume healthy amounts of milk and other dairy products.</p>
<p>Still another reason for nourishing our bodies is to keep our energy level high. Eating plenty of fruits, vegetables and salads help keep our bodies trim and healthy. Self-confidence is another reason why good nourishment is important. Eating a well-balanced diet will add to our self confidence because the vitamins and minerals in a well balanced diet help to stave off depression and help greatly in reducing one&#8217;s body weight and keeping fit and trim.</p>

Studies suggest that a lack of Vitamin B-12 can cause depression and confusion. Studies also suggest that Omega-3 fatty acids help brain function and improve bad moods. <br />Whole grains are another step to improving your behavior.<span id="more-15"></span> They are not only rich in fiber and other nutrients, but they cause the brain to produce serotonin. Serotonin makes us feel good and a lack of it is linked with depression.<br />Don&#8217;t forget the fruits and vegetables, especially dark green and leafy vegetables. They contain folate, which is lacking in people suffering from depression.<br />Avoid sugar whenever possible. It may give you a temporary lift, but you will end up feeling sluggish and cranky. Too much sugar ages the skin and causes weight gain, which can lead to depression.<br />Stay hydrated! Dehydration can lead to a variety of health problems that will affect your behavior. But the hardest part is actually DRINKING all that water so we&#8217;ve got a few tips to help you meet your daily goal.<br />Wake and Chug: One of the easiest ways we&#8217;ve found to get that first 16oz. down is to drink it first thing in the morning. You won&#8217;t even notice it going down you&#8217;ll be so tired and you&#8217;ll start<span id="more-12"></span> off the day ahead of the game.<br />Add some Flavor: If water&#8217;s just too bland for you to drink a lot of it, add some flavor! Get lemons and limes or even powders like Crystal Light and if you really want to spice things up, look into seltzer.<br />Keep a Container: Particularly if you work at a desk, keep a large container of water near you at all times. Set mini-goals for drinking (i.e. one container by lunch) and watch yourself succeed on a daily basis.</p>

We must keep our minds set on positive and stimulating things that keep us aware of our surroundings and continue to contribute to society. </p>
<p>Take care of your body!<br />We are not robots, our body has special and specific needs and if we do not meet them, it will shut down. We become more susceptible to illnesses and fatigue will stop us from enjoying everyday life and work. </p>
<p>Take care of your spirit!<br />People that are in tune with their spiritual being and are not afraid to exercise their faith tend to be calmer and more grounded then others. Daily meditation and prayer promotes inner peace and serenity and therefore a healthier human being!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When considering a holistic approach to life, health, and well being one is understandably drawn toward considerations of the connection between mind, body, and spirit. While there are many explanations that fall along more esoteric or spiritual lines, these types of descriptions can be a bit confusing for practical purposes. There is, however, a straightforward explanation that may shed light on the obscure.</p>
<p>The mind and body connection is readily apparent, but the spirit tends to cause consternation. As will be<span id="more-9"></span> seen, this should not be the case. Of course, the mind is the source of the body&#8217;s function. This is true on the subconscious level, as in breathing, the blood pumping, healing processes, and so on, as well as on the conscious level. </p>
<p>Ultimately, we rarely do anything without the mind informing the action. Accordingly, a healthy mind feeds a healthy body, and a healthy body is better able to do the mind&#8217;s will. But the spirit has a reputation of being ethereal. However, the actual meaning of the word spirit is simply breath. And without breath neither the body nor the mind can operate at all.</p>
<p>So in treating the breath as an actual entity, which it is, one can come to a clear understanding of the whole apparatus as it were. Breathing deeply, purposefully, and consciously is an element of most great spiritual movements, and for very good reason. The breath is spirit, and the body and mind cannot exist without it.</p>

<p>No matter how busy you are, set aside a little time for yourself each day. About 10 minutes before bed is a good place to start.
